At Rainbowdash Publishers LLC, we want our authors to have the best possible experience publishing their first book. We know how discouraging it can be to receive a string of rejections for the manuscript you have worked so hard on, and we do not want to reject your manuscript. That said, we receive more manuscripts than we can publish and there are some things you can do to make sure your manuscript rises to the top of the heap.
- Manuscripts for editing and publishing (80% royalty) should be complete and well edited at submission.
- Ideas for ghostwriting (20% royalty) should be outlined with background information.
- Good formatting using a style sheet is a big plus. It takes twice as many person-hours for us to correct manuscripts written with lots of returns and extra spaces as it does to publish a manuscript where the author used a style sheet. That doesn't mean we won't publish a badly formatted manuscript, but the content would need to be twice as good.
- Well researched with footnotes and a bibliography is necessary for non-fiction. We don't publish fake news and if we find your facts are incorrect we will ask you to correct your work. If you do not do so in a timely manner, we will pull it from the shelves.
- Pictures should include a page to give credit for illustrations which are not your own. If you have an illustrator you are paying a percentage of royalties, we can arrange payment for them. If you find images in the public domain, their creators still need to be acknowledged.
